Somali and Spanish Translation Below Sun Setting the Splash Blog Hello Seward Families, The Seward Montessori Website will be the one landing spot for all information for families and students. Over the summer 2022, we migrated information from the Seward PTA website to the Seward Montessori Website under Families and PTA tabs. If you have not checked out the Seward Montessori website recently, I encourage you to do so. The home page offers announcements, upcoming events and the Seward school calendar. The Families tab offers information on parent and family involvement, volunteering opportunities and Parent Teacher Association. For Fall 2022, the school and PTA will offer a monthly Seward Shark Newsletter both online and delivered home by students. Translations to Somali and Spanish will be available too. Thank you, Seward Splash

Seward's Science Class Needs to Rehome Some Chickens, and Needs Help to Keep Some at School

Image
We need to rehome about 6-7 baby chicks and Seward could try to keep 5-6 chicks. If you know anyone who would like chickens, please let Kerry Cashman and Karen Utter know asap.  Also in order to have chickens at Seward we will need some volunteers to help out. If you are interested in any of the following, again please email Kerry and Karen. There are some City hoops that need to be jumped. We need to get the ok from the zoning department. Seems there have been schools that didn't take care of their chicks. Does anyone know anything about zoning? We need someone to take a class through the city. I wondered if anyone out there has taken that class and could be our liaison between the city and school or if anyone wants to take the class. We could use a chicken committee. The teachers (maybe the 5th graders) can take care of the coop and chickens during the school year, but we will need help over breaks and over the summer. I am happy to help, but I am retiring, so would wan

Could you help get a chicken coop at Seward? Zoning, City Class, and more...

We are hoping to build a chicken coop for the courtyard and I was wondered if some parents would be interested in getting involved. There are some City hoops that need to be jumped. We need someone to take a class through the city. I wondered if anyone out there has taken that class and could be our liaison between the city and school or if anyone wants to take the class. I am happy to help, but I am retiring, so would want to hand it over at some point. I think we have a teacher for the committee. Thank you! Karen Utter Karen.Utter@mpls.k12.mn.us
