Seward's Parent Involvement Groups and Meetings

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

The Seward Montessori Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is the umbrella under which Seward Montessori parents come together to hold special events, donate much needed supplies, and keep bettering our best! The PTA supports its mission by raising money to fund field trips and after school activities, purchase classroom and media supplies, provide teacher and student grants, pay for child care for parents who wish to attend school meetings, and much more. Next PTA Board Meeting is Thursday, October 28th from 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm via zoom. ALL PARENTS are welcome to participate - we meet every month in the evening (usually the 4th Thursday of each month) and have lots of other ways to get involved. Site Council

Through effective and inclusive communication and decision-making, the Seward Montessori Site Council acts to establish strategic planning, resource allocation, site-specific policies and processes designed to support the achievement of Seward students. Seward Montessori Site Council is open to any parent or community member who wants to work to improve the educations experience at Seward. Seward Montessori Site Council usually meets the first Friday of every month, virtual links can be found on the Seward Calendar.

The Roundtable

A monthly parent meeting with updates from the PTA, Site Council, and School Administration. Often these meetings include a guest speaker or parenting/educational topic, as well as time for discussion between parents and staff. Roundtable is usually held the second Thursday of every month from 6:30 - 7:30 PM, virtual links can be found on the Seward Calendar.

Congratulations Mary Delander - we will miss you!

  Dear PTA, Spring is in the air.  And so is retirement. After 28 years, it's time to say goodbye. *I remember Melissa Ericksen before she was married. (Her children are now in college.) *I remember Anna Lethert as a Seward kindergartner. (Anna now teaches E-1) *I held Noah Mammen as a new born baby. (Noah is part of the Student Support team.) I've loved this job.   When I think of the PTA through the years, my heart fills with awe.  You've all made Seward the school that it is.  Strong in community.  A gift.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Children House: Cheers & Tears at drop off 9:30 AM or zoom at noon on Friday

  Welcome to Seward Montessori School.  We are excited to have your child join us this Friday.  We would like to invite all parents to a get to know you gathering either in person directly after drop-off at 9:30 AM or on a zoom call at noon on Friday, September 10. This is a chance to share this big day with other families experiencing similar feelings, whether you are happy, sad, nervous or excited. We want you to have the opportunity to meet other families in your Seward Community. If you are dropping your child off in person and have a few minutes join us in the Seward Garden--just head south of the main entrance on 28th Ave. and the Garden is between the parking lot and Matthews Park.  We will have coffee and donuts from 9:30 - 10AM If your child rides the bus or you don’t have time in the morning please join us online for zoom call with other Children’s House parents.  Our zoom call will start at noon on Friday, September 10th and can be access through this link .   Meeting ID: 45
