Seward's Pits and Alleys/Jueves Dentro de Seward: Pits and Alleys


I recall that at about this point a few years ago I was scratching my head over just what this "Pits and Alleys" thing was that everyone (and especially my son!) was talking about. It is a multi-player tagging game played inside a wildly creative obstacle course. But it is more than that: it is a Seward institution! Refined and distilled by former Physical Education Specialist Bill Garner (with the help of Seward students!) over the years and carried on by Physical Education Specialist Mrs. Huff, and the result of a lot of set-up and take-down work every year, it energizes our kids and helps bring our community together. Recuerdo que en este punto, hace unos años, estaba rascándome la cabeza sobre lo que era eso de "Pits and Alleys" del que todos (¡y especialmente mi hijo!) estaban hablando. Es un juego de atrapadas donde multiples jugadores pueden participar y que se juega dentro de una carrera de obstáculos tremendamente creativa. Pero es más que eso: ¡es una institución de Seward! Refinado y desarrollado por el ex especialista en educación física Bill Garner (¡con la ayuda de los estudiantes de Seward!) a lo largo de los años y continuado por la especialista en educación física, la Sra. News from Science: Karen Utter E1 Students Learning about Air E1 is learning about Air and Weather. So far we have learned that air is a gas and is all around us. We’ve been introduced to the terms: air resistance, compressed air and air pressure. Congratulations Mary Delander - we will miss you!

  Dear PTA, Spring is in the air.  And so is retirement. After 28 years, it's time to say goodbye. *I remember Melissa Ericksen before she was married. (Her children are now in college.) *I remember Anna Lethert as a Seward kindergartner. (Anna now teaches E-1) *I held Noah Mammen as a new born baby. (Noah is part of the Student Support team.) I've loved this job.   When I think of the PTA through the years, my heart fills with awe.  You've all made Seward the school that it is.  Strong in community.  A gift.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
