PTA Support in Action: Snacks & Welcome Back/ Apoyo de la PTA (Asociación de Padres y Maestros) en acción: Fondo de Snacks y Bienvenida de Regreso

Hello All:

This is a note of appreciation! Thank you to everyone who has supported the PTA and school recently!

1. Snacks! PTA delivered $1,300 worth of snacks to the school on April 19th. Clare, Ana and other staff were so excited to receive these (though snacks are now filling up their lounge - see picture). We will see how long they last, and may need to come back to families for another ask down the road.

2. Teacher appreciation! This is going back a ways now, but wanted to share how much teachers and staff loved the welcome back efforts the week after the strike. They received little bags of foot soaks salts, notes from families, a yogurt parfait breakfast and Afro Deli lunch. Here are a few pictures of the meals PTA set up in the lounge. Thank you to PTA volunteers who made these happen!

3. Welcome back to the kids and teachers! There are a couple of wonderful welcome back signs families made that are still handing inside the school. For those who didn't see it the first morning back - teachers chalked up the front walkways and we had balloons and music. It was a fun scene!

Esta es una nota de agradecimiento! ¡Gracias a todos los que han apoyado a la PTA y a la escuela recientemente! 

1. ¡Fondo de Snacks! La PTA entregó $1,300 en snacks a la escuela el 19 de abril. Clare, Ana y el resto del personal estaban muy emocionados de recibirlos (aunque los refrigerios ahora están llenando su salón, vea la imagen). Veremos cuánto duran, es posible que tengamos que volver a convocar a las familias para otro fondo en el futuro.

2. ¡Agradecimiento a los maestros y maestras! Quería compartir cuánto les encantaron a los maestros y maestras y al personal los esfuerzos de bienvenida la semana después de la huelga. Recibieron bolsitas de sales para remojar los pies, notas de las familias, un desayuno con parfait de yogur y un almuerzo Afro Deli. Aquí hay algunas fotos de las comidas que la PTA preparó en el salón. ¡Gracias a los voluntarios de la PTA que hicieron esto posible! 

3. ¡Bienvenidos niños, niñas, maestros y maestras! Hay un par de maravillosos letreros de bienvenida hechos por las familias que todavía están dentro de la escuela. Para aquellos que no lo vieron la primera mañana de regreso: los maestros dibujaron con gis las banquetas delanteras y tuvimos globos y música. ¡Fue una escena divertida!

Topic: Hearing From Seward Educators About their Experience at Seward Time: Mar 10, 2022 06:30 PM Central Time Join Zoom Meeting Meeting ID: 895 6010 6336 Passcode: SHARKS   This will be open only to Seward parents, not to the larger community.    Seward union stewards Sue Backus (teachers union) and Aliina Adelman (ESP union) will be present. Congratulations Mary Delander - we will miss you!

  Dear PTA, Spring is in the air.  And so is retirement. After 28 years, it's time to say goodbye. *I remember Melissa Ericksen before she was married. (Her children are now in college.) *I remember Anna Lethert as a Seward kindergartner. (Anna now teaches E-1) *I held Noah Mammen as a new born baby. (Noah is part of the Student Support team.) I've loved this job.   When I think of the PTA through the years, my heart fills with awe.  You've all made Seward the school that it is.  Strong in community.  A gift.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
