E2 Biking Helpers Needed Next Week! No bike experience is needed.

 

Hello Seward Parents and Families,

We need two volunteers per class for gym E2 gym classes to be able to bike next week. No bike experience is needed!

Come help:
*Unload and load bikes
*Help fit helmets
*Teach beginners how to ride
*Encourage and cheer on students
*Bike ride around with students

Parents, community organizations, school board members and district officials from across Minnesota will be participating in a day of advocacy to push lawmakers and Governor Walz to fully fund special education. Monday, May 9th we will gather at the State Capitol and online to  urge lawmakers to use 9% of the state surplus to fully fund special education .   In Person  - The State Capitol is open to the public and we plan on gathering on  Monday, May 9th . Committee and legislators' schedules are a bit fluid this time of session. We have a tentative schedule of events for the day but will update the group when Monday's schedule is announced. We are asking those who plan on attending to do two things:   1. Wear RED . We will be sporting the color red to help lawmakers know that we are there to support full funding for special education. Topic: Hearing From Seward Educators About their Experience at Seward Time: Mar 10, 2022 06:30 PM Central Time Join Zoom Meeting Meeting ID: 895 6010 6336 Passcode: SHARKS   This will be open only to Seward parents, not to the larger community.    Seward union stewards Sue Backus (teachers union) and Aliina Adelman (ESP union) will be present. News from Science: Karen Utter E1 Students Learning about Air E1 is learning about Air and Weather. So far we have learned that air is a gas and is all around us. We’ve been introduced to the terms: air resistance, compressed air and air pressure. We’ve learned that air takes up space and that it is stronger than all of us when it’s in a space it can’t escape from.    E2 has started learning about Motion and Force.  We learned that a force is a push or pull and that the scientific word for creating motion is “applying a force.” We discussed speed, direction and gravity.
