Seward's Science Class Needs to Rehome Some Chickens, and Needs Help to Keep Some at School

We need to rehome about 6-7 baby chicks and Seward could try to keep 5-6 chicks.

If you know anyone who would like chickens, please let Kerry Cashman and Karen Utter know asap.

Also in order to have chickens at Seward we will need some volunteers to help out. If you are interested in any of the following, again please email Kerry and Karen.

  1. There are some City hoops that need to be jumped. We need to get the ok from the zoning department. Seems there have been schools that didn't take care of their chicks. Does anyone know anything about zoning?
  2. We need someone to take a class through the city. I wondered if anyone out there has taken that class and could be our liaison between the city and school or if anyone wants to take the class.
  3. We could use a chicken committee. The teachers (maybe the 5th graders) can take care of the coop and chickens during the school year, but we will need help over breaks and over the summer.
  4. I am happy to help, but I am retiring, so would want to hand it over at some point. I think we have a teacher for the committee.

Thank you!
